Two Laughing Hearts

then there was the Irish lad I met working at a shitty bar one of

those long university summers and he did photography and took

my picture on black and white film a table lamp for lighting and

at some party a bunch of us walked in on him shagging this one girl

I quite liked (tall and plain and kind) and all we saw in the dim light

was his little white bottom go up and down the once and then we

left laughing because they had only just now met although I was

also a bit heart-broken but some time after that on the beachfront

he asked if I would mind if he kissed me and I said

fine and then us kissing until he laughed and I was unsure of the

true meaning of this and decided I’d probably not kiss him again

and now and then my wife laughs when I am not expecting it and

she says this is sometimes not because of something being funny but

just for happiness
